Ford India is geared up for their new Ford EcoSport SUV launch, which is slated for June. Eager to showcase this upcoming vehicle, the company displayed the same at malls in Delhi and Mumbai early last month and brought the massive SUV to malls in Bangalore and Chandigarh from March 29 to 31, 2013. Ford EcoSport is now scheduled to be displayed at the Ludhiana Westend Mall, and Kochi Lulu Mall from April 5th to 7th March. As such, 6 of the 12 Ford EcoSport on a 12-City Excursion destinations are now covered. Creating awareness has been of optimum importance for the brand, as they move from one city to another showcasing a very prized ware,the 1 liter EcoBoost petrol engine that offers just as much power as you’d expect from a 1.6L four cylinder petrol engine, hereby improving fuel economy by 20%. This One Ford mantra is all about better, better, and better, and helps lower the company’s carbon footprint.
The EcoSport is on a 12 city tour across the country and now heads to Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kochi, Ludhiana, Chennai, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad. In Chandigarh, the EcoSport was displayed at the Paras Downtown mall while in Bangalore, the EcoSport was showcased at the Mantri Mall. Ford EcoSport is now scheduled to be displayed at the Ludhiana Westend Mall and Kochi Lulu Mall from April 5th to 7th, followed by display at Jaipur Pink Mall and Chennai Express Avenue Mall from April 12th to 14th. April 19th to 21st will find the Ford EcoSport on display at Ahmedabad AlphaOne Mall and Hyderabad In Orbit Mall while it will be showcased in Pune at the In Orbit Mall and Kolkata South City Mall from April 26th to 28th, 2013.
Ford India will manufacture the EcoSport variants sporting a 1 liter EcoBoost petrol, 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engine. The export models will have new alloy wheels, enhanced sound insulation, well defined internal upholstery and other minor details. The 1.5 liter petrol will come in with a six speed dual clutch automatic transmission which is also seen on the Fiesta saloon. The other two will come with manual transmission only. Ford EcoSport measures just under 4 meters and has ground clearance of 200 mm. Built on the B platform again seen on the Fiesta saloon, the vehicle is being offered initially as a front wheel driver format.
