Following launch of 2018 Ford Aspire facelift in South Africa and Brazil, the sedan now heads to India. Set to come in as a sub 4m sedan, the Ford Aspire has now been revealed officially ahead of launch. “The New Ford Aspire has been tailor-made for those who don’t follow the crowds, desire beyond the ordinary and want more out of their car experience. They are driven by a desire to lead and make their own mark,” said Rahul Gautam, vice president – Marketing at Ford India.
Exteriors of 2018 Ford Aspire was noted with horizontal chrome slats, a new headlamp design, 15” multi spoke alloy wheels and wider tyres. Interiors are seen in a black and beige color scheme, leather upholstery on top spec variants and a host of new safety features. Bookings are now open across India. You can book yours at Rs 11,000.
One notable change on the interiors of the 2018 Ford Aspire Titanium+ trim with automatic transmission is that it is equipped with a FLY audio system instead of the SYNC3 infotainment unit. This FLY unit includes FM music player with AUX-In, Bluetooth, Media playback from USB and Offline maps by MapMyIndia. It also sports a rear view camera with dynamic guidelines and telephone controls. However, unlike the SYNC3 unit, FLY infotainment unit misses out features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay besides voice command facilities.
With the new FLY infotainment system, the new Ford Aspire Titanium gets a clearer dashboard thanks to the removal of controls and buttons from its central console. The dashboard receives a push start stop button near the instrument console and continues with its black and beige color scheme as is seen in the rest of the cabin.
2018 Ford Aspire sedan will come in powered by a 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder engine from the Dragon series. This engine offers 95 hp power and 120 Nm torque mated to a new generation 5 speed manual gearbox or an optional 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5 liter turbodiesel engine offers 100 PS power and 215 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
In terms of sales, Ford Aspire is having a hard time catching up with segment leaders such as Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. Between March and August 2018, Ford Aspire averaged monthly sales of 1,083 units. In comparison, Maruti Dzire averaged monthly sales of 24,099 units and Honda Amaze 9,679 units. Ford is hopeful that 2018 Aspire Facelift will be able to change that trend this festive season.
Scheduled for launch on October 4, Ford Figo Aspire Facelift was recently spotted in ‘White Gold’ and ‘Ruby Red’ colour options. The new colours look quite cool on the upgraded sedan and enhance its overall appeal and styling. Below is the photo gallery of new Aspire sedan.
