Jeep Compass has been officially launched in India. When the company announced the starting price, it was no less than a shockwave sent across the auto industry in India. Starting at a price of just INR 14.95 lakh, deliveries of the new Jeep Compass have already commenced to customers across India.
Showcasing the off-roading capabilities of the new Jeep Compass 4×4, a new video shared online has gone viral. The video shows how easily the Compass takes on the off-roading course and passes with flying colours. Watch the video below.
At the time of launch, Jeep India had revealed that they have over 5,000 confirmed bookings already. And these came in without the official prices revealed. With pricing now revealed, Jeep India has now received over 8,100 confirmed bookings. Bookings are soon expected to cross the 10,000 mark. This means, their revenue will have crossed the $280 million once all these 10,000 units are delivered. This is more than what they had invested for Jeep Compass at their Pune plant.
We have seen pictures of Jeep showrooms across India filled with eager buyers. There is a huge queue at all their showrooms for test drives. So much so that, in some cities people have to wait for hours to get their turn for a test drive.
Such huge booking numbers has resulted in one expected lag for those wanting to own the new Jeep. Waiting period has now increased up to five months in some cities for select variants.
Available in powerful petrol and diesel engine options, the aggressively priced Jeep Compass not only threatens the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta, but also the likes of Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes GLA.
