Indian Motorcycles has inaugurated its new dealership in Chennai, its third in the country after Delhi and Bangalore outlets. The showroom is located at Gee Gee Universal, No. 2, MC Nicholas Road, Chetpet, Nungambakkam and is operated by JMB Motors.
Complying with the brand’s global dealership standard, the Chennai showroom will have Indian’s entire current portfolio on display. The models include Indian Scout, Chief Dark Horse, Chief Classic, Chief Vintage, Chieftain and Roadmaster.
Speaking during the inauguration of the new dealership, Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd. (parent company of Indian Motorcycles), revealed that three more dealerships, one each at Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmadabad, will be inaugurated within the next three months.
According to the company, the Indian superbike segment is witnessing an impressive compound annual growth rate of over 25% which would be beneficial for the cruiser brand. In order to make the most of burgeoning premium two wheeler segment in the country, Polaris India is expected to commence local assembly of Indian motorcycles in the next 3-5 years.
Indian Motorcycles is positioned slightly higher than its primary rival Harley Davidson who has a comprehensive local assembly facility in India.
