The first of its kind in the country organised by Tata Motors, Indian Social Road Trip in a Tata Nano was held over the past 20 days. This road trip comes to a close after the winning team covered a distance of 2000 kms. Team North are the victors of this spectacular journey among a total of 4 teams. This team will be awarded with 4 2012 Tata Nano small cars.
This road trip was organised by Tata Motors in conjuncture with MTV wherein Tata Nano fans were divided into 4 teams. The drive was flagged off on May 28th 2012 and each team consisted of 4 members from the 4 zones North, South, East and West. Prominent VJs on MTV Rhea, Jose, Bani & Nikhil lead each team through various routes which started at Delhi and traversed through Chennai, Guwahati and Ahmedabad. The teams had to overcome obstacles along the way in order to reach the next level.
Facebook had a page specially dedicated to this Nano drive and received 1,50,000 fans within two weeks of going live. Team North is the chosen winner by fans who had to vote for their favorite team throughout the drive. Even the top fan will be recognized and gifted a Tata Nano.

Tata Motors today announced the conclusion of India’s first Social Road Trip in a Tata Nano, where the digital world met the real world. Team North returned victorious after a grueling 20-day long exciting social road trip, covering over 2000 km. Team North will be awarded with 4 Tata Nanos. The final episode, featuring the participants and this unique road trip, will air tonight on MTV at 8:00 PM.
Tata Motors, MTV and Tata Nano fans selected 4 teams for the drive. Tata Nano along with MTV India, flagged-off this unique drive on May 28, 2012, and successfully leveraged the online medium to treat travel enthusiasts. Each team, comprising 4 members, represented 4 zones of the country – North, East, West and South with MTV’s VJ Rhea, VJ Jose, VJ Bani & VJ Nikhil, leading each team. These teams traversed across four different routes, starting from Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati and Ahmedabad. The teams had to overcome obstacles, tasks to reach the next level. The 4 VJs met and interacted with their respective teams on a regular basis, egging their teams to go that extra mile.
Social media played a vital role in this unique road trip, as viewers had to vote for teams online. Within 2 weeks of going live, the Facebook page dedicated to the drive garnered close to 1,50,000 fans, with more than 80,000 of them actively talking about it on the page during the drive. At every stage, each team shared highlights of their respective journeys through, posts, updates, photos and videos.
Team North’s most ardent fan will be chosen based on his/her participation in the entire drive through the votes, likes and updates on the social media pages of the drive. The winner will also be awarded with a Tata Nano.
