Innova HyCross Beats XUV700, Harrier, Hector, Safari – Sales March 2023

Toyota Innova HyCross sales have crossed the 5.7k mark in March 2023 – This is the highest monthly sales registered by Innova HyCross till date

Mahindra Scorpio range has reported sales in March 2023 which were head and shoulders above each of its rivals. These include the Toyota Innova HyCross, Tata Harrier, Safari, MG Hector and Plus. Sales of the Scorpio were also above that of the Mahindra XUV700.

Total sales of these SUVs stood at 28,206 units in March 2023, up 49.73 percent from 18,838 units sold in March 2022. This was a volume growth of 9,368 units. It was also a MoM growth of 31.26 percent when compared to 21,488 units sold in Feb 2023 relating to a volume growth of 7,718 units.

Innova Hycross takes No 2 spot – Beats XUV700

Mahindra Scorpio/N sales stood at 8,788 units in March 2023. This was a 44.99 percent YoY growth over 6,061 units sold in March 2022. It may be mentioned that in March 2022 it was only the Scorpio that was on sale with the Scorpio N being added to the company portfolio in June 2022. This was a 2,727 unit volume growth with a 31.26 percent share. MoM sales of the Scorpio/N increased by 26.45 percent from 6,950 units sold in Feb 2023.

At No. 2 was the Toyota Innova HyCross. Sales stood at 5,755 units in March 2023 with a share percentage of 20.40. Launched in Dec 2022, it saw a MoM growth of 38.04 percent from 4,169 units sold in Feb 2023. The Innova HyCross has seen outstanding demand to the extent that bookings of its Hybrid ZX and ZX (O) variants have been temporarily halted as waiting period touches 2.5 years for these top spec trims.

From Mahindra stables was also the XUV700. Sales dipped YoY by 15.45 percent to 5,107 units in March 2023, from 6,060 units sold in March 2022. This was a 933 unit volume de-growth with the XUV700 commanding an 18.11 percent share on this list. MoM sales saw an improvement by 13.36 percent from 4,505 units sold in Feb 2023 when the XUV700 held a 20.07 percent share.

Tata Harrier and Safari saw combined sales of 4,451 units in March 2023. This was a YoY de-growth of 5.66 percent from 4,718 units sold in March 2022. MoM sales grew by 34.63 percent from 3,306 units sold in Feb 2023. Taking only Harrier sales into account, there were 2,561 units of this mid-size SUV sold in March 2023 relating to a 2.81 percent YoY and 24.68 percent MoM growth. Safari sales dipped 15.13 percent YoY to 1,890 units from 2,227 units sold in March 2022 while MoM sales improved by 50.69 percent over 1,252 units sold in Feb 2023.

MG Hector, Hector Plus Sales Growth

MG Motor has announced sales growth of 103.32 percent YoY for the Hector/Hector Plus in March 2023. Sales stood at 4,105 units in the past month which was a 2,086 unit volume growth over 2,019 units sold in March 2022. The duo currently command a 14.55 percent share on this list up from 11.90 percent held in Feb 2023 when sales stood at 2,558 units. It was a 60.48 percent MoM growth.

MG India also recorded its highest ever monthly sales over 6,000 units in March 2023 with the Hector and Hector Plus contributing most numbers. MG Motor owes this growth to the updated Hector which comes in with several updates in terms of design, features and technology.
