Isuzu D Max and MU X SUV price hike announced – WEF from 1st Jan 2019

From 1st January 2019, ISUZU Motors Limited has announced a price hike across its D-MAX Pick-ups and mu-X SUVs. This is the third such price hike this year, the first being in January 2018 followed by another price hike from 1st September 2018. In each of these cases Isuzu claimed the reason being high input and distribution costs.

The price hike is expected to be between 1-2% for commercial vehicles which include D-MAX Regular Cab and D-MAX S-CAB and by 3-4% for the adventure range of Pick-ups that include the D-MAX V-Cross and mu-X SUV. This percentage price hike will see prices increase from Rs.15,000 to Rs.1,00,000 across all models and variants.

The Isuzu D-Max range in India includes the regular D-Max cab and D-Max S-Cab in the commercial vehicle segment while in the adventure segment is the company’s flagship D-Max V-Cross. Prices prior to the price hike stand at Rs.6.68-8.88 lakhs for the D-Max cabs while D-Max V-Cross is offered in two variants priced at Rs.14.28 lakhs and Rs.15.78 lakhs.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is the country’s first adventure utility vehicle. It comes in with a 4WD, contemporary features and a large deck. It is offered in High and Standard grade variants and gets safety features among which are Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS), Auto Cruise Control, daytime running lamps, LED tail lights, rear view camera and a 2 Din touchscreen entertainment system.

Isuzu MU-X is a premium 7 seater full size SUV. It offers best in class space and comfort and boasts of new exterior designs and premium interiors in Lava Black. It sits on 18” multi spoke diamond cut alloy wheels offering the SUV a sporty stance.

Isuzu Motors Limited has their headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. The company has operations across 25 countries with sales across 100 countries across the globe. Total annual sales are to the extent of 6 lakh units annually. In India, the company production operations are conducted from its new manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh spread over an area of 107 acres. Production operations commenced in April 2016 and the company has dedicated dealer touch points across 42 locations in India.
