Jaguar XJ price for India-made variant starts from Rs 92.1 lakhs

First unveiled in 2013, the Jaguar XJ was sold in India as CBU till date. Plans to launch a made-in-India variant were revealed earlier this year, at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. Today, Jaguar India announced price of the XJ variant which will be assembled at their plat in Pune.

jaguar xj launched in indiaPrice of the new Jaguar XJ starts from Rs 92.1 lakhs, ex-showroom Mumbai. As of now, only the 3.0l diesel variant will be on offer, in two trims – Premium Luxury and Portfolio. No mention of a petrol has been made yet, as it is expected to be launched at a later date.

Speaking about their new introduction, Mr. Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover, India said, “We are delighted to introduce the flagship of the Jaguar brand, the epitome of extraordinary luxury, the XJ as locally manufactured, at an extremely competitive price point in the luxury saloon segment in India. The new 2014 XJ with new innovative features is bound to have an enhanced appeal for the discerning and successful individuals with a refined taste for elegant British style, luxury, design and sophistication.”

jaguar xj touchscreensSpeaking about the performance of Jaguar XJ’s 3.0l diesel engine, it delivers 275 PS at 4,000 rpm and 600 Nm at @ 2,000 rpm. This power and torque is delivered via 8 speed automatic transmission which takes the car to a top speed of 250 kmph (limited). Acceleration figures too are decent at 6.4 seconds for 0-100 kmph, considering it weighs almost 2.5 tonnes.

Dimensions stand at 5,252 mm length, 1,457 mm height, 1,899 mm width and a wheelbase of 3,157 mm. It has a turning radius of 12.3 meters and a boot space of 520 liters. New features on board the made-in-India XJ include massage seats, more headroom, LED reading lights, 10.2 inch screens for your entertainment at the rear, business table for rear seats, more headroom.
