Jawa has started delivery of their motorcycles. The first Jawa motorcycle, was delivered to owner in Indore today. As per Jawa website, they currently have a single dealer in Indore, who is Mehta Automobiles, located at 22/1, South Tukoganj, A.B Road, Indore – 452001. Phone : +91-9302376779 / 0731-2522630.
This dealership is located at a distance of about 29 kms from the Mahindra Two Wheeler plant, where the Jawa Motorcycles are being manufactured. It is not clear if deliveries in other cities have started or not. Jawa maintains that the deliveries are being done as per booking order. This makes the owner in Indore, the first person to have booked the new Jawa.
Jawa CEO tweets, “Here at Indore today to be a part of the first Jawa delivery as we kickoff deliveries across India. Happy riding Mr. Virender Singh and a warm thank you to Col. LK Anand (Retd.) for handing over the motorcycle. Great start indeed!”
Anupam Thareja tweets, “And this gorgeous is yours with love! Congratulations and ride safe Virender Singh. Our first 100 bikes will be delivered by ex Defence Personnel like this first one by Col. LK Anand (Retd). Salute!”
Mr. Ashish Joshi, Chief Executive Officer, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. said, “The last few months were really action packed for us at Jawa Motorcycles as we worked round the clock to set up our dealership network across India and start production simultaneously to meet our delivery commitments. Now that we are ready with our network, we begin deliveries of motorcycles to our customers and appreciate their trust and patience. As we move ahead, we will be reaching out to customers who have booked their Jawa motorcycles online as their names comes up in the delivery sequence.”
Mr. Anupam Thareja, Founder, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. and Founder and Managing Partner, Phi Capital, said, “This is the most important milestone yet in this journey as the first Jawa motorcycles hit the road today. Since we launched the brand and our motorcycles in November last year, it was not just a tremendous response that we received from our customers, but also unparalleled trust in the form of bookings, starting from day one. Today, we enter the next phase of our journey where we set out to begin fulfilling our commitment towards our customers.”
Many of those who’ve booked a Jawa, sit in anticipation of the much awaited confirmation regarding when their bike will be delivered. The wait could be a bit frustrating, since a number of people who booked within a week of launch are yet to receive any intimation regarding delivery date. The bikes are delivered as per sequence and not dealer wise, says Mr Thareja. However, those who’ve booked a Jawa, and have been interacting with the brand on Twitter over the months are expecting a bit more transparency regarding delivery schedule.
This is understandable since everyone’s pinned their hopes on March end. But majority of buyers do not know when they will get delivery. Knowing when to expect delivery would help nurture the excitement and not dilute it. And while some folks are expecting delivery next week, or waiting to be contacted by Jawa, there are Jawa owners who are stating that only 1 bike will be delivered today, while others will be delivered post 15th April 2019.
