Jawa and Jawa Forty Two mileage officially revealed – ARAI certified 37.5 kmpl

After more than 4.5 months since launch, Classic Legends has finally commenced deliveries of Jawa motorcycles in India. The first few bikes were delivered by the company on 30th March 2019. The next few bikes are expected to be delivered on 15th April 2019. All those who booked Jawa and Jawa 42 with single ABS on 15th Nov 2018, will get delivery of their motorcycle by end of April 2019.

Those who booked Jawas on 16th Nov, will be delivered in May 2019. Bookings IDs from JAWA20181116003 to JAWA201811163931 will get delivery in 1st half of May, while bookings IDs from JAWA201811163949 to JAWA201811166344 will get delivery in second half of May 2019. Those who booked on 17th Nov and onwards, will get delivery from June 2019. Deliveries of dual ABS Jawa and Jawa 42 will also start in June 2019.

Customers of Jawa have been asking for the company to reveal the official mileage claim figures of both motorcycles. But the company had not revealed the same until now. They have now revealed it on twitter. As per that, the Jawa and Jawa 42 deliver a ARAI certified figure of 37.5 kmpl. This is a little more than Mojo’s mileage of 35 kmpl. In a video review, where the Jawa was ridden in city traffic, a video review had claimed to receive mileage of 22 kmpl.

Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are priced at Rs. 1,64,000 and Rs. 1,55,000 respectively for rear drum brake. The Dual Channel ABS variants are priced at Rs. 1,72,942 and Rs 1,63,942 respectively. All prices are ex-sh, Delhi. Jawa is offered in three color options of Maroon, Gray and Black while Jawa Forty Two comes in 6 color options of Comet Red (Glossy), Nebula Blue (Glossy), Starlight Blue (Matte), Lumos Lime (Matte), Galactic Green (Matte), and Halley’s Teal (Matte). The bikes are on sale via the company’s 95 dealerships across 77 cities. The lineup will be joined by the retro bobber styled Perak which launches towards the end of 2019.The motorcycles are produced at the company’s Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh.

Jawa bikes are powered by a 293 cc, single cylinder, 4 stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC engine offering 27 bhp power and 28 Nm torque mated to a constant mesh 6 speed gearbox. The engine is tuned to offer optimal mid range performance and an exhaust note that is distinctive of a classic Jawa bike.

Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd has also announced the first motorcycle exchange program which will be offered across all dealerships via Mahindra First Choice Wheels, the country’s first pre owned vehicle brand. This allows customers to walk into any dealership with an old bike and get it exchanged for a new Jawa bike. For finance schemes, the company has tied up with HDFC Bank, Tata Capital, ICICI Bank, Mahindra Finance, Capital First (now IDFC Bank), L&T Finance Limited and Hinduja Leyland Finance.
