Jawa Motorcycle bookings open on 15th Nov – Website starts accepting regn

It’s the big week. Jawa Motorcycles is all prepped for its comeback on November 15, 2018. The buildup hasn’t been disappointing with inputs from the company and spy shots from enthusiasts, giving all and sundry an idea of what to expect.

And while we sit like eager beavers poring through any information that comes by, it would appear bookings for Jawa motorcycles will officially open on 15th November 2018. A new website has been created – www.jawamotorcycles.com, where registrations from enthusiasts are being accepted.

In the run up to launch day, Jawa Classic 300 and Jawa Adventure tourer have been spied. The big brand could showcase 3 or 4 bikes across segments this week. Jawa Classic 300, yet to be named formally, has been spied in the brand’s signature maroon colour. Other inspirations from yesteryears include the big round headlight profile, flat long saddleseat, gold/bronze pinstripes, and dual-tone chrome finish on the fuel tank among other features.

Another Jawa Classic 300 draws inspiration from military type camouflage. Features include a single front disc brake and rear drum brake. Single channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) is on offer as that is the norm for new bikes being launched now. The range is BS-VI compliant.

Power comes from a 293cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission. The engine returns max power of 27 bhp and max torque of 28 Nm. A company released video points to an exhaust note that’s true to the original.

Quite appropriately, Jawa Classic 300 takes on Royal Enfield Classic 350, a bike that dominates the market in a segment with little or no competition. Every month, RE C350 registers sales of 45,000 units, and that number is growing every year. Will Jawa 300 be able to eat into that share of Royal Enfield, only time will tell.
