In what was a much anticipated move, the first ever Jawa dealerships have opened today in India. At the time of launch last month, Jawa had promised to open first dealerships by 5th December. Running a bit behind schedule, Jawa also has announced to open 60 dealerships by the end of this month, and 105 dealerships by March 2019. Here is the full list of cities and Jawa dealers.
The first Jawa dealership is located in Baner while the second is located in Chinchwad. The name of the dealerships are Shakti Automobiles and NSG Jawa. Baner Jawa is located on the first floor of the same building, in which there is a Royal Enfield dealership as well.

The resurrection of Jawa in India has been facilitated by Mahindra’s subsidiary Classic Legends. The showroom was opened by Mr. Boman Irani, Chairman & Managing Director, Rustomjee along with Mr. Ashish Joshi, Chief Executive Officer, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd earlier today in Pune. Mr. Boman Irani said, “It gives me great pride to inaugurate Classic Legends first Jawa Motorcycles dealership in Pune. Jawa Motorcycles has enjoyed a huge fan following through and it was a historic moment for us when we brought Jawa back in India last month. We are quite upbeat to offer these classics to the motorcycle enthusiasts in the country.”
Mr. Ashish Joshi, added “This was the right timing to have come up with this range of motorcycles, as the Indian premium motorcycle market is not only growing but also evolving in consumer tastes and preferences. At our recently concluded Jawa Experience media ride program in Udaipur we have received rave reviews as a testimony to our efforts in building both these motorcycles.”
Launched last month, the company has gotten the ball rolling with Jawa (Classic) and Jawa Forty-Two. This apart the company is also keen on the idea of mods/custom bikes, and its possibilities. The bikes have been introduced at a launch price Rs 1.55l for Jawa 42, Rs 1.64L for Jawa, and Rs 1.89L for Jawa Perak custom bobber.
At launch, the Jawa showcased wore a classic maroon shade. The other two colour options revealed were Jawa Black and Jawa Grey. Jawa 42 is available in six colours. Jawa gets power from a BS-VI compliant 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine. The FI enabled setup mated to a six speed, returns max power of 27 hp, and peak torque of 28 Nm. The retro inspired new age offering features single channel ABS as standard.
