A fully production ready Fiat C-SUV (Project 551) prototype’s interior has been photographed partially in Brazil. The compact crossover is set to make its world debut in the coming months.
Brazil will be the first market to get the SUV before it goes on sale in several international markets. Jeep’s volume oriented product will also be marketed in RHD markets with India as the production base.
It can be seen that the C-SUV’s interior features a familiar steering wheel and several components that are derived from other FCA models. Feature highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. The heavily contoured front seats look upmarket.
The spyshots also reveal the car’s production-spec headlamp cluster with integrated LED daytime running lights. The front fascia makes the upcoming Jeep look like a baby Grand Cherokee.
Based on FCA’s Small-Wide platform which also underpins the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X, the C-SUV will be a size larger than the Renegade. Like any other Jeep, the crossover will be offering above-par off-roading capability.
Powertrain lineup is expected to include a 2.0-litre Tigershark four-cylinder petrol engine (Brazil will get flex-fuel version of this motor that can also run on ethanol) and a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine. Both manual and automatic transmission will be on offer. Higher variants will be equipped with a 4×4 system.
