It’s been a difficult week with manufacturers devising new price lists for their product range following the announcement of increased GST cess on 11th September, 2017. FCA India today announced a revised price list for its Jeep and Fiat range of cars following an increase in Cess implemented by GST Council. The new prices mentioned below are applicable to the entire range and are effective from September 15, 2017. Jeep Compass price increase stands in the range of INR 21,000 to INR 72,000.
Prices for the Fiat range of cars increases in the range of Rs 9,000 to Rs 14,000. Jeep CBU price increase stands in the range of INR 275,000 to INR 640,000. That’s pretty humongous a hike. at the time of launch 45 days earlier, Jeep Compass was made available at a starting price of Rs 14.95 lakh, ex-showroom. At the time of launch, the company confirmed 5,000 bookings. At the start of this month after a full month of sales, the company confirmed 10,000 Jeep Compass bookings and plans to increase manufacturing to reduce delivery and waiting period. The following was the launch price list.

The Diesel AT variant is yet to be launched. To support the Compass’ claim to fame in the market, Jeep India did introduce the product range at a competitive price, ensuring an attractive entry price point. Today’s Jeep Compass price increase announcement effectively takes ex showroom prices up to a range of Rs 15.16 lakh upto Rs 21.37 lakhs. With the festive season upon us, the market is conducive to increased buying activity.
Pre-bookings had opened on June 19th with launch scheduled on Monday, July 31st. The company has already received 92,000 enquiries for its newest product, the Jeep Compass.
