Jeep Grand Cherokee price slashed by INR 18.5 lakh – Petrol variant launched
Jeep India has announced a massive price cut across their Grand Cherokee range.
After numerous false starts, Jeep India finally commenced its operations in August 2016, by launching the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. But, their bright start in India was dimmed by over-the-top pricing strategy.
Fans and interested buyers were left shocked when the price was revealed – Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited – INR 93.64 lakhs, Summit – INR 1.03 crore, and SRT – INR 1.12 crore. All prices were ex-Delhi. But now, post GST, these prices have been revised. New prices are as below –
Jeep Grand Cherokee Variant-wise prices
- Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel Limited – INR 75.15 lakhs
- Jeep Grand Cherokee Petrol Summit – INR 75.15 lakhs
- Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel Summit – INR 85.15 lakhs
- Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT – INR 1.07 crore

The Grand Cherokee for India will be available in Limited, Summit, and SRT variants. The diesel variants are powered by a 3.0-litre V6 EcoDiesel engine which is capable of 240 PS and 570 Nm of torque. The petrol variant is powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar engine generating 289.6 PS and 347 Nm. The range-topping SRT variant packs a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 petrol engine which is tuned to dish out an impressive 475 PS.
All engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard 4×4 system. Standard features include 5-inch UConnect infotainment system, powered front seats with memory and heating functions, electrically adjustable wing mirrors with memory and heating functions, multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, off-road terrain selector, powered tailgate, etc. Also, air suspension is now standard in the New Jeep Grand Cherokee (Summit) Petrol and Diesel variants.
It also gets 8.4-inch touchscreen display, Harman Kardon with 19-speakers and rear entertainment package, electrically adjustable steering wheel, ventilated front seats, limited slip differential, panoramic sunroof, and so on.
