Jeep India’s Delhi dealership all-set for a grand launch – Photos

Being actively tested in India for the past three years, Jeep cars officially went on sale in India on 1st September 2016, via their sole dealership as of now, situated in Ahmedabad. At the launch event, Jeep India had promised that they will open two more dealerships this month, one of them being in New Delhi.

On offer in India are Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and SRT, priced in the range of INR 72 lakh to INR 1.13 crore, ex-showroom.

Wrangler and Grand Cherokee sports utility vehicles are being brought in through CBU channels while the company is planning local production at a later stage. For this, the company is expected to invest INR 1,800 crores for new assembly lines at Ranjangaon.

Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in two variants – Summit and Limited. They are powered by a 3.0 liter EcoDiesel turbocharged V6 diesel engine offering 240 bhp power and 570 Nm torque. The engine will be mated to a Quadra Trac II for the Limited variant and Quadra Drive II for Summit variant which will send power to all four wheels. SRT comes powered by a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 petrol engine, which generates 475 PS via an 8 speed auto-box.

Jeep India-spec Wrangler Unlimited 4 door version receives a 2.8 liter CRD turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel engine offering 200 PS power and 460 Nm torque mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph will be achieved in 10.2 seconds. It will have fuel efficiency of 12.1 kmpl and power will be sent to its Command Trac shift-on-Fly 4 wheel drive.
