The new Jeep Renegade facelift is seen with exterior and interior updates and new technology while prices have also been hiked. The base model with a £945 (Rs 90k) price hike as compared to its earlier counterpart is now priced at £19,200 (Rs 17,06,585) for the base model going up to £30,805 (Rs 27,38,371 for the range topping Trailhawk variant.
2019 Jeep Renegade sports a new front grille, lowered front fascia, new fog lamps and headlamps along with full LED lights. It also receives LED tail lamp clusters with a revised X patter, 16”, 17” and 18” wheel options while the Limited trim gets 19” wheels.
Interiors of the 2019 Jeep Renegade also get some changes. These include a new smartphone holder, cup holders and a host of storage spaces. It has an extra USB port on its rear central arm rest and the latest generation UConnect screen in 5”, 7” or 8.4” depending on variants.
2019 Jeep Renegade also gets added safety features as compared to those seen in its earlier model among which are lane sense departure warning-plus and intelligent speed assist with traffic sign recognition.
In European markets, 2019 Jeep Renegade, which will be offered in Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk variants, will get a host of engine options. These will include a 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder petrol engine offering 120 hp power, a 1.3 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine capable of 150 hp or 180 hp and two diesel engine options as well.
As was seen on its earlier model, the Jeep Renegade will get front and all wheel drive options with Jeep Selec-Terrain offering different driving models depending on road surface.
Jeep Renegade is currently on test in India. It is expected to be launched her by next year. Once launched in India, it could take on the likes of Skoda Yeti. Expect prices to be in the range of Rs 20 lakhs.
