Jorge Lorenzo in India to promote motorsport, rides Yamaha R3 at BIC

Yamaha Motors India Sales Pvt. Ltd., invited three times World MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo as part of their initiative to promote motorsport in the country. The event was held at India’s only F1 track, Buddi International Circuit in Greater Noida, where he was welcomed in by Indian biking and motorsports aficionados alike.

The event also saw Lorenzo taking a lap around the BIC on Yamaha’s flagship motorcycle YZF-R3. This initiative was seen as an opportunity to stir up excitement and excite more youngsters into the motorsport field. Lorenzo also met 30 lucky R3, giving them some valuable tips on how to race a motorbike on the track. He also participated in a joint riding session across the wet track.

Jorge Lorenzo has had a particularly impressive season this year with Yamaha, as he won yet another championship. This has brought the 28 year old Spanish racer in even more focus. Having invited Lorenzo to India, Yamaha India hopes that their annual Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship will receive a much needed boost.

Speaking about the new Yamaha YZF-R3, it has received a fair amount of attention among bike lovers in the country. Lorenzo praised Yamaha’s efforts in promoting motorsports in India and also regaled the BIC as a fantastic track of international standards.

Lorenzo joined MotoGP Yamaha Factory Racing Team in 2008. His outstanding performance and winning streak over the years has taken the Spaniard to receive a World Championship title and the only Spanish rider with the most wins in MotoGP as of 2015.
