At the end of last week, new Jaguar ambassador Chelsea Manager José Mourinho joined Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum and Jaguar Land Rover Managing Director Jeremy Hicks to celebrate the official UK launch of Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé. He will take delivery of the new F-TYPE Coupé in March 2014 and will be the first person in UK to do so.
At the event compered by Natalie Pinkham at East Winter Garden in Canary Wharf, Example, Mistajam, BBC sports presenter Gary Lineker and Anthony Joshua MBE were among VIP guests in an audience of 600. In recent months, jaguar has been going from strength to strength. Jaguar UK has now received 2 Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Marketing Excellence Awards for its ‘Your Turn Britain’ campaign created for the new Jaguar F-TYPE launch. The awards bagged came in the Best Automotive/Transport Campaign and Social Media Campaign of the Year.
Jaguar UK Marketing Director, Ken Forbes said: “We’re delighted with the recognition Your Turn Britain has received. It had social media at its heart – a very modern campaign that positioned and celebrated the F-TYPE as a new modern British icon. By inspiring and engaging with the UK population, we were able to run a campaign that successfully and credibly appealed to a modern British audience.”
In another development, Dr Ralf Speth was named Man of the Year 2013 by AUTOBEST’s jury of leading journalists from the emerging European markets. On selecting Dr. Speth for the “MANBEST” award, Dan Vardie, Chairman of AUTOBEST, said, “Dr Speth is one of the most successful executives we have in the industry. He proved that both Jaguar and Land Rover are full of potential with extraordinary new and highly competitive vehicles, and designed a business model with impressive profits.”
Commenting on the award Dr. Speth said, “Europe is an incredibly important market for us and despite the economic challenges we are seeing growth in these markets. This award, from respected journalists in fast developing markets, recognises the success of Jaguar Land Rover whom has emerged from the difficulties of the recession and had a series of successful new vehicle launches, with the Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Jaguar XJ.”
Ian Callum, Jaguar’s Design Director, receiving the “DESIGNBEST” award. The AUTOBEST jury said, “We were highly impressed with his latest creation, the F-TYPE, a sports car true to Jaguar’s design values. The award is also paying tribute to his outstanding work dedicated to futuring the entire design language of Jaguar, introducing a modern interpretation of a one-of-a-kind history only Jaguar can come up with.”
