Kangoo and Kangoo Express ENERGY dCi 75 and 90 lower their CO2 emissions to 112 g/km by September 2013

It was at last year’s Geneva Motor Show that Renault showcased its Kangoo equipped with Energy dCi 90 diesel engine in an endeavor to project low emission technologically advanced vehicles. Energy dCi 110 is one such engine will also powers Kangoo ZE resulting in top in their class where fuel efficiency and auto emissions are concerned.

The company has been in continuous improvement in both energy efficiency and reduction of emission and has been successful in reducing emission in the Renault Kangoo and Kangoo Express. Here it is seen that emissions are limited to 129g/km of CO2 with dCi 75 and 90 and 112g/km of CO2 with Energy dCi 75 and 90 versions. This is primarily due to a new Start/Stop and Energy Smart Management that enhances energy efficiency and reduced auto emissions a great deal.

Due to this new record, Kangoo will strengthen their leadership position across Europe. Kangoo is offered in three wheelbase options – Compact, Express and Maxi. In the first six months of this year the vehicle accounted for 18.6% sales. It is also offered in two drive train options – Combustion and Electric.

Kangoo and Kangoo Express ENERGY dCi 75 and 90 lower their CO2 emissions to 112 g/km1 as of next September.

This development boosts the reputation of the passenger car and small van as the most frugal vehicles in their segments.

In the year to end-June, Kangoo Express reinforced its leadership in the small van segment in Europe with an 18.6% share of the market, of which 2,672 Kangoo Z.E.

Renault presented the Kangoo equipped with an ENERGY dCi 90 diesel engine at the last Geneva Motor Show. With this technologically advanced version of the Energy dCi 110 under the bonnet, both the ludospace (Kangoo) and van (Kangoo Express) versions of the model stood out as the most frugal in their class in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Several months later, as part of its Kaizen approach of continuous improvement in energy efficiency, Renault has succeeded in reducing the CO2 emissions of Kangoo and Kangoo Express. Both vehicles emit 129 g/km of CO2 with dCi 75 and 90 and as low as 112 g/km1 (4.3 l/100 km) with the ENERGY dCi 75 and 90 versions -featuring Stop&Start and Energy Smart Management – a new record that reinforces their reputation as segment leaders.

Cost in use for the ENERGY dCi 90 and 75 versions is 12% lower than for the dCi 75 and 90, the core range engine emitting 129 g/km of CO2. This figure includes savings on fuel economy and an oil change (now at 40,000 km) based on a mileage distribution of 36 months/90,000 km.

This new emissions record will strengthen Kangoo’s leadership in Europe. At end-June the light commercial vehicle version accounted for 18.6% of sales in the small van market in Europe, thanks in particular to a tailored offer including three wheelbases (Compact, Express and Maxi) and two drive trains, internal combustion and electric.
