Indian car market’s C-segment leader, Honda Cars India, has undergone some top-level management changes. The current President and CEO, Hironori Kanayama, is due for retirement and he will be returning to Japan shortly. He assumed his position three years ago, in April, 2012. Starting next month, April 2015, Katsushi Inoue will be the President and Chief Executive Officer of HCIL.
Katsushi Inoue has been working in Honda Motor Company for more than 29 years now, and was previously serving as the General Manager in Marketing Planning office in the headquarters in Japan. He has gathered experience from key markets all over the world, including Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, the UK, Germany and Poland.
The chair of Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing and Sales at HCIL will be taken by Hiroyuki Shimizu.
Further, the Managing Officer of Honda Motor Company (parent) who was overseeing Development, Purchasing and Production in Asia and Oceania from April 2013, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, will move from his station in India back to Japan upon concluding his tenure soon.
Yoshiyuki Matsumoto is set to take over as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Automobile Operation at Honda Motor Company. He will also be brought into the Board of Directors in Honda Motor Co. with the title Senior Managing Officer and Director, pending approval at General Meeting of Shareholders in June, 2015.
