Kawasaki ER-6n offered at a discount of up to INR 1 lakh

Kawasaki ER-6n, the naked version of Kawasaki’s successful sports tourer motorcycle, is being offered at hefty discounts at company dealerships across the country. Kawaski’s Mumbai dealership Anzen Kawasaki is offering a discount of INR 93,000 on the ER-6n which otherwise carries a price tag of INR 4.78 lakhs.

However, this pricing is only applicable to buyers in Thane, Panvel and Navi Mumbai regions. Kawasaki dealers in Bengaluru and Delhi have also announced heavy discounts on the ER-6n though the percentage of discounts varies from dealer to dealer.

The sole reason for dealers to offer such hefty discounts on Kawasaki ER-6n is to allow them to clear out stocks of bikes compliant with BS III emission norms ahead April 1, 2017 when implementation of BS IV comes into effect. Kawasaki is not the only manufacturer who is doing this. Honda too is selling their CBR650F for a hefty discount of INR 1 lakh for the same reason.

Kawasaki ER-6n, which is ideally suited for urban use, is compact and receives a high riding fuel tank. It gets a new headlamp and split seats while it is built on a double pile perimeter style frame. It also gets a new instrument cluster and rear view mirrors and is powered by a 649cc liquid cooled, parallel engine offering 72 bhp power at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm.

The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox sending power to rear wheels via a chain drive. This is the same engine that is seen on the Ninja 650. Kawasaki ER-6n, offered in a single all black body color sees braking duties performed by dual semi floating, petal disc brakes in the front and single 220mm petal disc brakes at the rear. Discounts will continue till stocks last.
