Kawasaki Ninja H2R costs Rs 72 lakhs – Gets no warranty from company

India Kawasaki Motors has delivered the one and only unit of 2019 Ninja H2R to a buyer in Pune. The buyer’s identity has not been revealed by the company. This is the only such example that will be sold in India, at least for the time being, as the company has no deliveries scheduled for year 2019.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R is priced at Rs.72 lakhs, ex-sh. It is not street legal motorcycle. Which means, that the bike cannot be registered to be driven on public roads. Owner can only ride the motorcycle on private roads, and it is built only for track usage.

It is a supercharged hypersport motorcycle and the most powerful production motorcycle in the world. Kawasaki Ninja H2R is powered by a four stroke, supercharged 998cc, four cylinder engine offering 326 PS power at 14,000 rpm and 165 Nm torque at 12,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6 speed manual transmission, sending power to rear wheels via a chain drive. Acceleration is from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3.5 seconds and upto a top speed of 400 kmph in 26 seconds.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R is fitted with Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers. It sports a Supercharged emblem and is painted in Kawasaki’s High Durable paint. It gets Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit, a Kawasaki Quick Shifter and cornering management function along with Kawasaki Traction Control and anti lock braking system. Suspension is via 43mm upside down fork in the front and Ohlins TTX36 monoshock absorber unit at the rear.

It does not come any warranty.

It also gets braking via 330mm semi floating twin disc setup in front with Brembo M50 monoblock four piston calipers while at the rear, a 250mm disc with Brembo calipers are noted. The new Ninja H2R gets a 17 liter fuel tank capacity. Thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber in its makeup weighs just 216 kgs. The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is a track-spec model and hence does not sport a headlight, blinkers or rear view mirrors.

Kawasaki Ninja H2R is one of the most highly priced motorcycles in India with a price tag of Rs.72 lakhs. It has no other competitor except for the BMW HP4 Race which is priced at Rs.85 lakhs and the Ducati 1299 Superleggera, which costs Rs 1.12 cr. All three motorcycles have now found a home in India.

Service schedules of such motorcycles is similar to that of WSBK. It is not in months or kms, but in hours. Ninja H2R’s first service is at 15 hours while 2nd service is at 30 hours. In spite of being such expensive machine, it does not come with any manufacturer warranty. Once sold, it is the responsibility of the owner.

Owner’s Manual states – “This motorcycle is sold ‘AS IS’, with all faults, obvious or concealed and there are NO WARRANTIES, expressed or implied, including warranties of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR PURPOSE. The purchaser accepts all responsibilities concerning quality, performance, cost of service and/or necessary repairs.” This basically means, even if your bike comes with manufacturer fault, you cannot claim anything from the company.
