Kawasaki Versys X-250 showcased at 2017 GIIAS – Photos

Kawasaki Versys X-250 borrows inspiration from Versys 650 and shares engine specs with Ninja 250R and Z250.

All new Kawasaki Versys X-250 has been showcased at the 2017 GIIAS in Indonesia. Available in two trims, Versys 250 Adventure and Versys 250 Tourer, price starts from IDR 61.9 million (INR 3.12 lakh). The more expensive, fully loaded Versys 250 Tourer is priced at IDR 72.7 million (INR 3.66 lakh).

Kawasaki Versys 250 is powered by a 249cc, 8 valve, twin cylinder engine offering 34 PS power and 21.7 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. This is the same engine seen on the Ninja 250R and Z250 which also promises a high level of fuel efficiency.

Borrowing its design cues from the Versys 650, Versys 250 sports a diamond framework offering better stability while it receives upside down forks on front and petal discs at the rear. Detailed specs of the new Kawasaki Versys 250 are as below –

Highlights include telescopic front forks with 170 mm suspension travel, mono shock at the rear, spoked wheels, 19 inch the front and 17 inch at the rear off-road tyres, twin-throttle valve intake, slipper clutch. The Tourer variant gets ABS as standard, while for the entry level it is optional. Tourer also gets metal panniers, twin auxiliary driving lights and brush guard.

Kawasaki Versys 250 is an entry-level adventure bike which could make its way to markets in India by mid-2018. Launch of Kawasaki Versys X-250 will make the entry level segment of adventure touring motorcycles very competitive. As of now, this segment offers Royal Enfield Himalayan, Mahindra Mojo in India. Soon there will be KTM Duke 390 Adventure and the BMW G310 GS available for buyers.
