The Kawasaki Versys 650 adventure tourer is attending the ongoing 2016 Bangkok Motor Show in a matte orange- piano black dual-tone livery. The motorcycle went on sale in India late last year, inaugurating the nation’s mid-size adv tourer segment in the process.
The Versys 650 dual-tone features a black fuel tank while rest of the bodywork such as fairing, tailpiece and fuel tank extensions and front fender are finished in matte orange. The rear suspension spring and grab rails are finished in black to go well with the livery.
The Versys is predominantly a tarmac tourer but has proven to be adept at traversing through moderate off-road trails. The motorcycle employs the familiar 650 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine which also caters to the other 650 series Kawasakis. Mated a 6-speed transmission, the motor belts out 69 PS at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.
The tourer is held together by a diamond frame made of high tensile steel and is cushioned by means of a 41mm (dia) inverted telescopic fork with adjustable re-bound damping and preload at the front and offset laydown single-shock with remote spring preload adjustability at the rear.
Braking is taken care of dual front 300 mm semi floating petal discs (2 caliper) and a single rear 200 mm petal disc (1 caliper). ABS is available as a standard fitment.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 is priced at INR 6.6 lakhs (ex-showroom).
