Kawasaki Vulcan S is a super trendy cruiser set for launch in India in coming months. It is a 225 kg motorcycle sharing the engine doing duty in Ninja 650.
The Kawasaki Vulcan S is not a mere cruiser derivative in the 650 cc segment, it has special features that make it a more compelling proposition. It has a traditional cruiser-style low-seating arrangement, over which Kawasaki has incorporated customisable seating position. Vulcan S also has adjustable foot pegs for the rider, to compliment the adjustments made to the seat.
Powering the lime green cruiser is the 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin fuel-injected engine, that churns out 60.2 bhp max power @ 7,500 rpm and 62.78 Nm peak torque @ 6,600 rpm, mated to 6-speed transmission. The bike comes with an eco meter alerting of the fuel efficiency.
The bike is equipped with Antilock Braking System (ABS), but it is unclear which variant will make it to the sub-continent. Kawasaki Vulcan S ABS variant weighs 3 kg more, at 228 kg.
The cruiser is expected to launch in India close to (or) alongside Kawasaki Z250SL launch, at around Rs. 6 lakhs ex-showroom price. This would also be imported via CKD route.
