The interesting Kawasaki Z800 Blue-Black livery has been showcased at the 2016 Bangkok Motor Show which is currently under way. The naked sportsbike has been a strong seller in its segment in India right from its launch 2014 (even more so after the price got slashed by around INR 50,000 in 2015.
The funky Blue-Black color combination complements the motorcycle’s super aggressive styling. The headlamp cowl, tank extensions, tank decals and tailpiece and rim tapes are finished in blue.
The motorcycle’s in-line four-cylinder 806 cc liquid-cooled engine which is known for its refinement and effortless performance is paired with a 6-speed transmission. Power and torque figure stands at 113 PS at 10,200 rpm and 83 Nm of torque 7,000 rpm.
The Ducati Monster 821 rival is underpinned by a tubular backbone chassis which employs the engine as a sub-frame. Suspension system is constituted by an adjustable (rebound damping and preload) USD fork of 41 mm dia and Bottom-Link Uni-Trak with gas-charged shock absorber with stepless rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.
Braking is courtesy of 310 mm dual discs with 2 calipers upfront and a 250 mm disc at the rear with a single caliper. The brakes are governed by standard ABS. The 17-inch alloy wheels come shod with 120/70Z-R17 M/C (front) and 180/55Z-R17 M/C (rear tyres).
Apart form the Ducati Monster 821, the Kawasaki Z800 also locks horns with the Benelli 899, Triumph Street Triple, etc.
