Kia America had K4/Forte as its best-selling vehicle in Jan 2025 while Kia Sportage too crossed the 11,000 unit sales mark
Kia America lineup includes a strong fusion of ICE, hybrid, plug-in-hybrid and all-electric vehicles. The company has announced sales for January 2025 when the company has witnessed an encouraging improvement in sales to 57,007. This was well over 51,090 units sold in Jan 2024. These sales marked a 12% YoY growth, while it also set a new record for highest sales in January.
Among the best-selling models in the company portfolio were Forte/K4, Sportage, Telluride, Sorento, and Carnival. Along with announcing best ever monthly sales for Jan 2025, the company also official launched of the all-new 2025 Kia K4 compact sedan. The 2025 Telluride SUV was also nominated as one of Car and Driver’s 2025 10Best Trucks and SUVs.
Kia America Sales January 2025
In Jan 2025, Kia had K4/Forte as its best-selling model with 11,616 unit sales. This was a YoY growth over 8,977 units sold in Jan 2024. With this sedan being in such high demand shows that there is a certain segment of buyers showing increased demand for sedans even as SUVs continue to hold much prominence. Kia K5, another sedan in the company portfolio, also showed off strong 32.5% YoY growth at 4,357 unit sales, up from 3,288 unit sales of Jan 2024.
Kia K4/Forte was followed by the Sportage. It experienced 11,357 unit sales in the past month, up from 9,994 units sold in the same month of last year. There was also Kia Telluride, a mid-size SUV that generated 8,771 unit sales in Jan 2025. This was over 6,916 unit sales of Jan 2024 relating to a volume increase of 1,855 units.
Sales of Kia Sorento SUV also showed off some improvement to 6,871 unit sales in Jan 2025 up from 6,020 units sold in the same month last year. It was followed by Kia Carnival with 3,665 unit sales in Jan 2025, an improvement over 3,013 units sold in Jan 2024.
Kia’s Declining Sales Models
Even as Kia Soul witnessed a YoY growth in sales to 3,554 units, up from 3,271 unit sales of Jan 2024, not all the models in the company lineup witnessed growth in Jan 2025. Sales of Kia Seltos sales declined by 29% to 2,840 units in Jan 2025, down from 4,000 unit sales of Jan 2024. This related to a significant 1,160 unit volume decline.
Kia America’s sales list also included the all-electric EV6 and EV9 three-row SUV. While EV6 sales witnessed a surge to 1,542 units from 1,213 units on a YoY basis, sales of EV9 declined to 1,232 units sold in Jan 2025 from 1,408 unit sales of Jan 2024. Kia Niro too suffered a YoY de-growth to 1,202 units in Jan 2025 from 2,062 unit sale experienced in Jan 2024.
Talking about Kia India sales, the company has witnessed YoY growth of 5.28% with 25,025 unit sales in Jan 2025. It also showed off a stronger 31.75% MoM improvement in sales. Earlier this month, Kia Syros was launched in India and is priced affordably between Rs 9-17 lakhs (ex-showroom). Kia Syros marks its presence in the highly competitive sub-4m SUV segment wherein it will compete with Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3XO, Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
