With Kia Carens facelift premium MPV, we can expect the company to offer more elements we saw with Syros sub 4m SUV
Operating in the premium end of multiple SUV segments, Kia India is poised to launch Syros on February 1st, 2025. After the Syros, Kia is likely to launch an updated Carens premium MPV in India, which is among the most anticipated cars of 2025. Ahead of launch, testing of Carens facelift has been spied, giving more details on this upcoming vehicle.
Kia Carens Facelift Spied
The segment below Toyota Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross is emerging as an important one. Especially considering that entry price point of Innova Hycross in 2025 is Rs 19.09 lakh (Ex-sh) and Innova Crysta is Rs 19.99 lakh (Ex-sh). In comparison, Kia Carens tops-out at Rs 19.95 lakh for top-spec X Line Diesel Automatic.
As of now, the only real rival to Kia Carens is Maruti Suzuki XL6 and its Hyundai counterpart, Alcazar SUV, which recently got a major facelift. With Kia Carens facelift, we can expect it to be positioned below Alcazar, where pricing is concerned and implement some of the elements we saw with Syros SUV.
Recent spy shots leaked online, show Kia Carens facelift testing on public roads. Kia has taken great care to camouflage this vehicle, hiding its design elements ahead of launch. However, we can see a few elements including the new design for alloy wheels that gets an interesting slotted-type five-spoke pattern.
Even though Kia has camouflaged the vehicle’s exteriors, we can see it gets a revised fascia with even more striking design features. Bonnet is still slightly tapered, for that MPV look. Also, wheel arches and wheel arch claddings are still round in shape, unlike what we saw with Syros sub 4m SUV.
At the rear, we can see more changes in the form of new Starmap LED tail light signature. These are connected, this time around, and flow downwards at either ends. Other than these, we can expect Kia Carens facelift to get new and revised bumpers at the front and rear. Headlights are new and inspired by EV5.
New Interiors
On the inside, we can expect Kia Carens facelift to get some of the elements we saw with Syros. These include the 30-inch Trinity Display including dual 12.3-inch displays, one for infotainment and other for instrumentation, along with a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control. We can expect the dashcam, front and rear ventilated seats among others.
Powertrains-wise, Kia Carens facelift will retain the same engine options as the current model. This means a 1.5L NA Petrol engine, a 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine and a 1.5L Turbo Diesel engine. Depending on engine choices, Kia will offer a 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DCT.
