Kia Carnival deliveries start – Bangalore dealer delivers 10 in 1 day

Priced in the range of Rs 25 lakhs to Rs 34 lakhs, ex-sh; deliveries of the new Kia Carnival are in full swing across the country.

Kia had launched the Carnival MPV earlier this month at the 2020 Auto Expo. Now, deliveries of the affordable premium MPV have started across the country. Initial response to the MPV has been good and one of Kia’s Bangalore dealer, M/S PPS Kia, located at Mysore Road has managed to deliver 10 Carnivals to customers on a single day.

On the occasion of 10 deliveries, Mr. Manohar Bhat (Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing, Kia Motors India) stated,  We are overwhelmed by the love for brand Kia that the Indian market has shown and our partnership with PPS under the leadership of Mr.Rajiv Sanghvi has helped us reach tap this market extensively. The South region is a vital market for a product like Carnival, which is a never-before combination of sheer luxury and amazing performance. We are equipped with our robust network and seamless service delivery with 265 touch points across 160 cities, ensuring that the Carnival is available even in the remotest corners of the country.”

Kia had launched the Carnival on 5th Feb’20 at a starting price of INR 24.95 lakhs. It is offered in multiple seating configurations of 7, 8 and 9-seater options, making it easier for customers to choose a version which suits their needs. On the trim front, Kia is offering 3 trim levels, Premium, Prestige and Limousine (for more variant-wise details, click here).

The Carnival draws power from a BS6 compliant 2.2 litre CRDi motor which dishes out 202 hp and 440 Nm of max torque. Transmission option is limited to an 8-speed AT. The list of creature comfort features is relatively massive, especially for the top of the line, Limousine variant (costs INR 33.95 lakhs, ex-showroom). These include Nappa leather upholstery, wireless phone charging, dual-pane sunroof, sound system from Harman Kardon, 3-zone climate control, 2 10.1-inch touchscreens for rear passenger, one-touch power sliding door, Kia’s UVO connectivity suite, and much more.

Kia is manufacturing the Carnival at its AP plant and might plan for exports in the future. Till launch, Kia had received more than 3,500 bookings of the Carnival. While Kia hasn’t shared latest update on booking numbers, we are sure that the number would have gone up further.

Talking about Kia Motors, after a stupendous start with the Seltos, Kia had brought in the Carnival as its second product for India earlier this year. Media drives of the Carnival took place in Jan’20 followed by a launch in first week of Feb’20 . At the 2020 Auto Expo, Kia had also showcased the Sonet concept, which is scheduled to transform into a new Venue-based sub-4 metre SUV. While Carnival won’t be a big number churner for the South Korean brand, the Sonet would certainly push overall sales numbers for Kia once it is launched.
