Ever since its launched last year, Kia has never offered any of their car at discount; Until now
Aiming to boost sales during the festive season, Kia is offering attractive discounts and benefits on its Carnival premium MUV. As may be recalled, Carnival was the second product to be launched by Kia in the Indian market. It was launched at the 2020 Auto Expo at a starting price of Rs 25 lakh. Initial response was quite good, as more than 1,400 bookings were received on first day itself.
Car sales had taken a hit during the lockdown and subsequent period, but things have started to improve since June onwards. August was a watershed moment, as car sales registered positive YoY growth after several months.
For Kia Carnival, the lockdown was particularly bad, as it was unable to build upon its initial success. Carnival was launched in February 2020 and the lockdown was imposed next month in March. Below are the sales of Kia Carnival till date. As can be seen, post March 2020, the sales have failed to pick-up, and dealers are stuck with unsold stock. Total sales of Kia Carnival in India till date are 3,828 units.

Kia Carnival discount and benefits
Now that the market looks more promising, Kia is wooing customers with total benefits worth up to Rs 2.1 lakh. The offers include corporate discount of up to Rs 46k, exchange bonus worth up to Rs 80k, 3-years unlimited kilometres maintenance package worth Rs 48k and rear seat entertainment unit worth Rs 36,560 (available with Prestige and Premium variants).
In addition to these offers, Kia is also focusing on simplifying ownership for potential customers. Towards that end, a number of easy EMI schemes have been launched. For example, the EMI Holiday Plan allows customers to delay their first EMI payment by 90 days.
This will be beneficial for customers who may be currently facing a cash crunch. Financial woes are quite common in the times of Covid-19, so such EMI schemes will definitely be attractive to specific customers.
Another EMI plan is Flexible EMI option where Carnival customers can choose to reduce three of their EMIs every year by 50%. This is to ensure that customers don’t default on their EMIs in months when they may be facing a cash crunch.
The third option is the Low EMI plan where customers can benefit from low EMI of Rs 767 per lakh for the first six months. This again will be advantageous for customers who may be currently running short of funds.
These attractive discounts and benefits can also work to refresh people’s memories about all that’s great about Kia Carnival. It is possible that a lot of it may have been forgotten due to the challenging times faced during the lockdown. Carnival comes with a long list of features including VIP seats, dual panel electric sunroof, trizone automatic climate control, smart air purifier, and power sliding doors.
