After unveiling K4 Sedan in March 2024, Kia Motor extended the K4 family to include a Hatchback model in April 2025. Now, Kia has further expanded the K4 family to include a Wagon model which is called K4 Sportswagon. Within Kia’s global portfolio, K4 Sportswagon replaces Kia Ceed Sportswagon. Let’s take a closer look.
Kia K4 Sportswagon Debuts
Where design is concerned, Kia K4 Sportswagon looks rather neat with its European-like appeal. It does not have any polarizing design elements, something that was associated with K4 Sedan. It carries Kia’s Opposites United design language, hidden rear door handles, snazzy-looking D Pillar element, sleek eye-catching profile and more.
In terms of dimensions, K4 Sportswagon measures 4,965 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,435 mm in height and has a 2,720 mm long wheelbase. This makes K4 Sportswagon 15 mm shorter than K4 Sedan in length and 265 mm longer in length than K4 Hatchback. Wheelbase is uniform with all three models.
Since we are quoting numbers and measurements, Kia K4 Sportswagon packs a large 604L boot, which is a common trait of a wagon. Kia K4 Sportwagon’s boot is comparable to VW Golf Estate’s 611L and its predecessor, Ceed Sportwagon’s 625L boot, but is a little small if we bring Skoda Octavia Estate’s 640L boot.
On the inside, Kia K4 Sportswagon looks familiar to other K4 models in the family. For Indian car buyers, Kia K4 Sportswagon’s interiors remind of Kia Syros, which also offered the same steering wheel along with its 30-inch Trinity dashboard with dual 12.3-inch horizontal screens along with a 5-inch touchscreen in the middle for climate control functions.
Features, Specs, Launch
Notable features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, baked-in streaming services, digital key, panoramic sunroof, LED lighting with full width LED DRLs, digital Tiger Face grille, large alloy wheels, roomy cabin, sporty bumpers, large LED tail light signature, intelligent storage spaces all around the cabin and more.
Powering the Kia K4 Sportswagon will be powered by a 114 bhp 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is a mild-hybrid version of this engine which only gets a 7-speed DCT. Then there is a 1.6L Turbo Petrol engine with up to 178 bhp, mated to a 7-speed DCT. A full hybrid version (self charging likely) will be introduced later.
Production of Kia K4 Sportswagon will happen in Mexico and it is advertised as a 2027 model. USA does not seem to be among the recipient markets for this wagon, but Europe sure is. Launch prospects in India are meek as the market favours SUVs and high-riding vehicles marketed as SUVs.
