Launched back on 22nd Aug in India, Kia Seltos has registered record sales for the month of Aug 2019. A total of 6,200 Kia Seltos were sold last month, which has made the Seltos one of the best selling SUVs in the country for the month.
Thanks to this record performance, Kia Seltos is now the best selling SUV in the Rs 15 lakh segment. At the launch event, Kia India officials revealed that the total bookings had crossed the 32,000 mark. The company has a production capacity of 3 lakh units a month.
But the Seltos is not produced at full capacity. For now, the production capacity per month is about 5,000 units. This is the reason behind waiting period of about 2-3 months on Kia Seltos across India. Kia Seltos is a rival to the likes of Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks, etc.
The Seltos is compact, stylish and spacious. It measures 4,315mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,620mm in height. Wheelbase is at 2,610mm while boot space stands at 433 liters. Its exterior design boasts of sharp creases augmenting its sporty stance.
It is seen with a wide Tiger nose grille with gloss black mesh and chrome accents. It also sports LED head lamps with DRLs, silver skid plates, a raised window line, well proportioned tail lamps along with a dual tone roof, silver roof rails and 17” machine cut alloy wheels.
The cabin is spacious and clutter free. It is offered in two colour options of all black and black and off white. To set the GT Line and Tech Line apart where its interior design elements are concerned, the GT Line gets black interiors with red stitching on seats and dashboard with distinctive GT lettering. The Tech Line is in an all black and off white colour scheme.
Head and leg room is adequate and rear seats come with a two step recline while boot space at 433 liters is also sufficient to take on luggage for a family of 5 persons. Interior comforts are further augmented with ventilated seats, air purifier, eco coating to absorb odors and mood lighting with 8 mono colours and 6 dual tone colour themes.
The Kia Seltos comes in with a total of 37 connected car technologies in terms of navigation, safety and security and also features Artificial Intelligence powered voice recognition system for control of phone calls, maps, climate control, etc using voice commands.
