Kia Seltos India sales beats Seltos sales in Korea by 91 units

In spite of being a new brand in India, Kia has managed to register impressive sales and booking numbers in its first month of launch. Seltos is the first Kia car, which has been launched in India. Despite of that, the SUV has received tremendous response.

Launched on 22nd August in India, Kia India managed to register sales of 6,200 units of Seltos last month. In addition to this, the company is sitting on an order book of more than 35,000 units.

In comparison, sales of Kia Seltos in Korea, which is the home-country of the car maker, for Aug 2019 are at 6,109 units. This means Kia India beats Kia Motors Korea by 91 units, where sales of Seltos is concerned. This is a huge achievement by Kia Motors India.

Kia Seltos has also become the best selling SUV in its segment in India. It takes on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur. Top variants also take on the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, MG Hector, etc.

Kia Seltos has been specially designed for the buyer in India and is assembled at Kia’s India facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. It is presented in two trim levels of GT Line and Tech Line and in petrol and diesel engine options with four transmission options, taking total upto 16 variants.

Kia Seltos gets its power via 3 engine and 4 transmission options. It gets a 1.4 liter T-GDI petrol engine offering 138 bhp power and 242 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual and 7 speed AT. The 1.5 liter petro engine makes 113 bhp power and 144 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual and CVT while the 1.5 liter CRDi diesel engine is capable of 113 bhp power and 250 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual and 6 speed AT.

It is where the interiors are concerned, that the Kia Seltos stands apart. Safety features include ABS, EBD, and ESP, a 360 degree parking camera, hill start assist and vehicle stability management. It also gets 3 level traction control, front and rear parking sensors and a total of 6 airbags. The Seltos will receive three drive modes of Normal, Eco and Sport.
