Kia Seltos appears to have got good response from the market, as it had received more than 6k bookings on the opening day of booking. That was back on 16th July. Latest booking number count has not been revealed by Kia, and is expected to be announced at the launch event on 22nd Aug. At the rate people are heading to Kia showrooms these days, one can expect a record breaking booking number to be announced soon. Bookings are currently open both online and offline for Rs 25,000.
Ahead of launch, Kia India has organized national media test drive, which is currently taking place in Goa. We have driven the Seltos, but cannot share our opinion / review about the car till the 9 PM, 9th August as there is an embargo. What we can share, are the facts, specs, photos and video of Kia Seltos.
In its production variant, Seltos measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height. This makes it longer and wider, as compared to Hyundai Creta. Seltos comes in a snazzy package with chrome accents and LEDs at the right places to give it a premium look and feel.
Kia is providing a wide range of colour options to choose from including 8 monotone colours and 5 dual-tone colour options. Customers can also choose between 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels and its design as well – crystal-cut or hyper-metallic.
Seltos will be offering two petrol and one diesel option, all of which will be BS-VI compliant from day one. The 1.5-litre petrol engine makes 115 hp/144 Nm whereas the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 115 hp/250 Nm. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 140hp/242Nm. All these engines utilize ‘Smartstream’ technology, which has been developed by Hyundai. Seltos will offer 6-speed manual transmission for all three engines, whereas automatic options include 7-speed DCT (for 1.4 turbo-petrol), 6-speed automatic (for 1.5 diesel) and a CVT unit (for 1.5 petrol).
Best fuel efficiency is offered by 1.5 diesel MT variant at 21 kmpl. Its automatic variant delivers 18 kmpl. The 1.5-litre petrol MT gives 16.5 kmpl while CVT variant does 16.8 kmpl. The 1.4 turbo petrol MT does 16.1 kmpl while DCT variant gives 16.5 kmpl.
On the inside, Seltos is offering a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display, an 8.0-inch head-up display and a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment and navigation system. Other key features include soft-touch materials, piano black and brushed aluminium accents, in-car air purifier, LED ambient mood lighting, and premium Bose sound system. Features specifically developed for Indian conditions include heavy duty AC, clutch-force reduction system, and dual-horn setup.
As we already know, Seltos comes with UVO connectivity suite that comprises 37 internet connected smart features.
