At the time of launch, the vehicle was introduced at an introductory price across variants. The vehicle, currently Kia Motors sole offering in India is already BSVI compliant. This ensures no further price hike anytime in the near future on account of engine upgrade.
Those who are still awaiting delivery of a Kia Seltos even if booked sometime in 2019 will have to absorb the price hike. As it stands, the price revision isn’t too steep and ranges from 20k to 35k depending on variant.
Since launch back in August 2019, this is the first price revision for Kia Seltos. Since launch, Seltos has established itself as a worthy segment offering garnering much interest and recognition, and a huge transference o this positivity to sales. Monthly sales has been phenomenal for the most part.
Kia Motors India unlike some seasoned manufacturers in the country could not take advantage of a December sales boost. This is but obvious on account of the fact that the car is far too new to be made available with a discount. And considering most dealers go all out in accommodating discounts in December to offload as many of the last MY (model year) vehicles, Kia Motors certainly couldn’t go down that path this year.
This would have led to plenty of deferred buying decisions. As it stands, a new 2020 Kia Seltos is going to be a wee bit pricier for everyone as the price revision is across all Seltos variants.
On the back of a strong showing for its maiden launch, the brand would be progressing in the market with confidence. The brand is expected to launch a new car in every six to nine months. This would expand the Kia Motors India portfolio to at least 5 vehicles by 2021. The manufacturer’s next big launch, which as as early as next month is the Kia Carnival MPV.
A lot has changed in the last two years. It was at the last Auto Expo, that Kia first showcased itself in India. Two years later, and the brand is already making waves. It would be interesting to see what Kia’s showcase at the 2020 Auto Expo looks like.
With Kia Seltos, the brand has made available something for everyone. Available in more than 20 combinations, the vehicle is still available at an entry ex-sh price that’s below Rs 10 lakhs. At the higher end, the price extends to Rs 17.34 lakhs.
