Kia Seltos has managed to stay on the top of SUV sales charts for the 2nd month in a row. For Sep 2019, sales of Kia Seltos are even higher than that posted in Aug 2019, reveals Auto Punditz.
Aug 2019 sales of Kia Seltos were at 6,236 units. Sep 2019 sales of Kia Seltos are at 7,754 units. Once again, becoming the top selling SUV in the segment – beating the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass.
Only SUVs which posted higher sales than that of Seltos last month, were the sub 4 meter compact SUVs Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza.
Due to huge demand, Kia Seltos waiting period is currently at about 2 months. The company has received over 40,000 bookings.
When Kia Seltos was launched, it was offered in two trims of Line and GT Line. Tech Line was further divided into five variants HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX and HTX Plus, while the GT Line received GTK and GTX.
Thanks to added demand, the company has now introduced the top variant GTX+ trim with DCT gearbox and diesel engine option, in compliance with customer’s demands. This new addition takes the Kia Seltos up to a total of 16 variants divided over 3 engine and 4 transmission options.
The Seltos GTX+ petrol DCT is priced at a premium of Rs.1 lakh over the manual variant. The GTX+ automatic variants are more expensive than the Tata Harrier and MG Hector with the Seltos range now priced from Rs 9.69 lakhs to Rs 16.99 lakhs.
The BS VI compliant engine options include a 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 115 PS power and 144 Nm torque, a 1.5 liter VGT diesel engine capable of 115 PS power and 250 Nm torque and a 1.4 liter turbo GDI petrol engine offering 140 PS power and 242 Nm torque.
These engine get mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The automatic engine options include the IVT 1.5 liter petrol engine, 1.5 liter VGT diesel engine with 6 speed AT and a 1.4 liter turbo GDT petrol engine with 7 speed DCT.
