Kia Seltos is getting ready for its launch in India this month. To be offered in a range of petrol and diesel engine options, this is the first ever Kia car to be launched in India. And the response from car buyers in India has been amazing. Considering that Kia is a new brand in India, the company announced that they managed to get over 6,000 bookings for Seltos in just 1 day!
Over the weekend, Kia Seltos made its dealer debut in India. Some of the dealers reported that the debut event was so jam packed, that there was barely any space to stand inside the showroom. Kia dealers has also started giving test drive of Seltos to customers.

Highlights of Kia Seltos include BS6 petrol and BS6 diesel engine. Automatic and manual transmission options. Internet car, connected via smartphone app. Dual tone alloys with sporty red calipers, sporty front grille, LED headlight and tail light, sunroof. Air Purifier – In a first, Seltos is also offering internet connected air purifier. The UVO system has embedded air quality monitoring sensors, which detect and alert the user about bad air quality inside the cabin. Based on chosen settings, the air purifier can work automatically or as per instructions provided by the user. Seltos air purifier can remove 95% pollutants in less than 25 minutes. This feature will be immensely useful in the country, home to some of the most polluted cities in the world.
Ambient lighting – Travelling inside Seltos will never be a visually or aurally boring experience, as the SUV comes with first-in-class dancing ambient and LED sound mood lights. The ambient lights are connected to the infotainment system of the SUV. Users can choose from 8 mono settings and four different themes to create an ambience that best suits the moment.
Terrain modes – Seltos can efficiently negotiate various types of terrain, as it comes with three terrain modes of Sand, Mud and Wet. According to Kia, the terrain modes are powered by advanced technology and easily qualify for the ‘best in segment’ tag. Other SUVs in this segment that offer terrain modes include Tata Harrier that comes with Normal, Wet and Rough modes.
360° surround view – To detect objects, pedestrians, etc., Seltos is equipped with 360° surround view camera. This is very useful when parking in tight spaces or when negotiating heavy traffic. Seltos is also offering blind-spot monitor, which is another first-in-class feature.
Overall, the Kia Seltos has managed to impress majority of car buyers in India. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10-15 lakhs, ex-sh, official prices will be revealed at launch on 22nd Aug.
