To make a better impact on the sub 4m SUV segment, Kia just launched the Syros for a starting price of Rs 9 lakh (Ex-sh). This is a premium sub 4m SUV that sits above the Sonet and below Seltos and is packing a lot more features and creature comforts than immediate rivals like Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3XO, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia’s own Sonet.
Kia Syros Launch
Considering the fact that Kia Syros starts from a Turbo Petrol engine option, the Rs 9 lakh (Ex-sh) base price seems attractive. Also, it has to be noted that Kia Syros’ trim lineup starts from HTK and not HTE. For context, Kia Sonet HTK 1.0L Turbo Petrol starts from Rs 9.6 lakh (Ex-sh) and Hyundai Venue 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine options start from Rs 10 lakh (Ex-sh).
Turbo Petrol Automatic pricing starts from Rs 12.8 lakh (Ex-sh), which is HTK+ 7DCT variant. Diesel variants pricing starts from Rs 11 lakh (Ex-sh) for HTK (O) 6MT variant. Diesel Automatic is priced at Rs 17 lakh (Ex-sh) for the top-spec HTX+ 6AT variant. Kia will launch an X Line trim level in the future too, which should be positioned as the new top-spec trim.
Where safety is concerned, Kia Syros is poised to be the new benchmark as it brings the segment-best radar-bases Level 2 ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, 6 airbags as standard along with 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminders for all passengers. 360-degree cameras, blindspot assistance with video feed projection on instrument cluster are notable safety features as well.
The premium stand-out features include a panoramic sunroof, sliding and reclining seats at the rear, front and rear ventilated seats for ultimate comfort, immense space and sense of space on the inside, excellent headroom, a built-in air purifier with a display to monitor AQI levels, rear window shades and a massive boot, among others.
Kia Syros is jam-packed with technology too. Kia Connect 2.0 brings even more comprehensive OTA updates that can alter up to 16 controllers along with 80+ telematics features. The 30-inch Trinity display encompasses a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CaraPlay, 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 5-inch touchscreen for auto climate control.
