Ahead of its launch slated for February 1st, 2025, Kia Syros is generating a lot of headlines. This unique and premium sub 4m SUV will be launched in multiple trim levels – HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). However, an X Line trim will be launched later on, depending on the market reception of this vehicle.

According to the trims and variant information revealed by the company, Syros will not be launched with a creme de la creme X Line trim. This trim will launch later, with stealthy dark colours that will appeal to buyers more. Currently, Syros gets Frost Blue, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Pewter Olive, Glacier White Pearl, and Aurora Black Pearl.

Kia is likely to offer Syros X Line with Aurora Black Pearl and Matte Graphite shades, similar to Sonet X Line. It will be based on Syros’ top-spec HTX+ (O) trim, a similar strategy Kia is using with its Indian portfolio. Kia has yet to mention an exact timeframe for the launch of Syros X Line. A launch around the festive season would be anyone’s guess.

When launched, Kia Syros X Line will take on other special editions based on rival Sub 4m SUVs. Primarily, Hyundai Venue N Line, Venue Knight Edition, Venue Adventure Edition and the one that started it all, Tata Nexon Dark Edition. Stealthy and dark exterior colour along with a few X Line specific badges on the inside and out, will be the primary highlights of this trim.

What to expect?

Considering that Syros doesn’t get a GT Line, we might see a new alloy wheel design for Syros X Line. Syros’ key strengths like the 30-inch Trinity Display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front and rear seats, rear sliding and reclining seats, powered driver’s seat, Level-2 ADAS and more attributes seen on HTX+ (O) will also be offered with Syros X Line.

Where powertrains are concerned, Syros X Line is likely to come equipped with the same combinations as HTX+ (O). A 1.0L GDI Turbo Petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT or a 1.5L Turbo Diesel engine mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Launch might happen around the festive season, or well before it, depending on customer reception.
