Arnold Schwarzenegger presented the exclusive Kreisel Electric Hummer H1 at the opening of the company’s newest R&D facility in Rainbach, Mühlkreis district, Upper Austria.
This first ever electric Hummer H1 has been under development for the past two months and is an off road prototype based on the Hummer H1. It is fitted with a 100 kW/h battery pack from Kreisel Electric. These two electric motors fitted at the front and rear, have total output of 483 hp and a top speed of 120 kmph. It has a range of 300 kms and weighs a total of 3,300 kgs. Kreisel Electric Hummer H1 consumes 24 litres of fuel per 100 kilometers, and produces upto 470g CO2 per kilometer.
Kreisel Electric Hummer H1 is set to be limited to a prototype only as has been indicated by Markus Kreisel, one of the founders of the company. It is set to showcase Kreisel technology and is part of the other electric powered version of Volkswagen Golf, BMW 3 Series Touring, Skoda Yeti 4×4 and the Porsche Panamera also created by Kreisel Electric.
Kriesel Electric was founded by three brothers, Markus Kreisel, Philipp Kreisel and Johann Kreisel who work out of a small garage. They work on the development of electric powertrains that could be used on traditional cars. The company’s new R&D facility in Austria is a one of a kind center spread over an area of 7,000 sq.mt. It includes a prototype workshop with an automated manufacturing line for Kreisel Electric batteries which is seen in the production of passenger and utility vehicles besides buses, boats and airplanes.
The company previously electrified Arnold Schwarzenegger’s G-Class. The actor says if the company continues at the pace it is, he would soon be on an electric plane from LA. The actor is a friend and sponsor of the high-tech company, and a huge big electric vehicle fan.
