KTM‘s three fully faired sports bikes – RC125, RC200 & RC390 will be based on the 125 Duke, 200 Duke and 390 Duke respectively. KTM 125 will have a strong proposition for Europe, where it will compete with Yamaha R125. Being race inspired, RC 125 sports a 125cc engine offering 15 bhp power and 12 Nm torque with a wider trellis frame and tyres besides well designed USD forks while the RC 390 will offer 43 bhp.
The bikes will be produced in India by Bajaj at their plant in Chakan. It is from here that these bikes, along with the Duke 125, 200 and 390 will be exported. In India, the RC125 is not expected to be launched at first, while the RC125 and RC390 will be launched in 2014 and will sell along with the 200 and 390 Duke counterparts. Where prices are concerned, buyers can expect a premium of INR 10,000 over the Dukes once the models are ready for showrooms. (Images: asphaltandrubber)
