KTM’s RC Series will be launched globally by mid 2014 while India launch is also scheduled around the same time, with RC200 coming in first and RC390 following soon after. KTM RC Series will be followed by Adventure series thereby consolidating its position as leading bike makers across the globe.
KTM RC200 and RC390 are fully faired bike with a fairing mounted windshield and clip on handle bars. Sporting split seats and twin headlamps, the both these bikes come with better handling and enhanced ergonomics. RC390 engine will have peak power output of 44 ps while RC200 will produce about 26 ps with speculative pricing of RC390 at around INR 2.3-2.5 lakhs and that of RC200 in the sub Rs 1.5 lakh segment.
After the RCs, KTM 390 Adventure will be launched. It is basically a beefier 390 Duke fitted with dual purpose tyres and a larger fuel tank. The 390 Adventure will also share a host of components with the 390 Duke which will allow the company to keep prices lower.
Apart from this, KTM is planning to launch bigger cc motorcycles. This might be in the form of 1190 Adventure, which is the first bike being offered with Motorcycle Stability Control from Bosch. They might also bring their most powerful bike, the 1290 Duke some time later.
Considering the growing motorcycle segment, KTM is also working on new set of twin-cylinder engines in the 500cc and 800 cc range. Once these engines are ready, they will do duty on next gen Duke, RC and Adventure variants.
