Land Rover unveils Discovery Vision Concept
Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept is loaded with technological and comfort features. Interiors are comfortable with first two rows of seats covered in Nimbus white leather while third row seats are upholstered in Navy Blue leather with interiors accentuated by open pore wood trim and polished and machine finished aluminium.
Technology on board will include Remote Control Drive which comes into use in case of severe off roading conditions while Terrain Response dial can be removed from Discovery Vision centre console and used to remotely control the vehicle. This allows the driver to manoeuvre the Discovery Vision from outside the vehicle at very slow speeds while Remote Control Drive can also be used via a smartphone or tablet.
Fitted with Smart Glass, the entire transparent glass displays images allowing for various applications. All eye tracking sensors and navigation information is flashed onto the glass which can then be swiped like a smartphone from four seat back 10” touch screens or a docked tablet.
Two LED screens are also embedded in the steering wheel via which the infotainment system can be operated. In the center of the cabin are two high resolution touch screens to display system menus while lower of the two screens can be opened to reveal storage space and a smartphone charging tray. The Smart Glass besides being used for data can also be used to set the mood where internal lighting is concerned giving a tint or dimmed interior look to the Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept.
The Discovery has played a major role in setting the foundations of the Land Rover brand. It is well admired across the globe and possesses a strong customer base. Vision Concept adds to this appeal with its new and forceful design, connecting to the customers of today.
Land Rover unveiled this new concept at the USS Intrepid in Manhattan, along with a Virgin Galactic spacecraft scale model. The two, Land Rover and Richard Branson owned Virgin Galactic have entered into a long term global.
