Latest Maruti Suzuki recall affects 33k units of new Alto 800 and Alto K10
Maruti Suzuki recall is issued for 33,098 vehicles (19,780 units of Alto 800 and 13,318 units of Alto K10) manufactured between 8th December 2014 – 18th February 2015. All recalled cars will be inspected to replace the ‘right hand door latch assembly’. Maruti Suzuki dealers in India will contact owners of affected vehicles.
Dealer workshop technicians will inspect affected vehicle condition and undertake necessary replacement at no charge. The Maruti Suzuki recall worthy problem was noticed through internal quality checks undertaken at the company. As a result, proactive action has been initiated in the best interest of customers.
Maruti Suzuki recall issue should not be a concern to customers if right hand side doors (front and rear) are completely latched. If the door is half-latched, it may open if pressure is applied from inside. In view of customer safety, Maruti Suzuki recall calls for replacement of the door latch assembly. Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Alto K10 owners who purchased their cars on or after 8th December 2014 in the domestic market can check Maruti Suzuki website to see if their vehicle is among those being recalled.
Customers are requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. Chassis number is embossed on vehicle ID plate and mentioned in vehicle invoice / registration documents. Regarding the latest Maruti Suzuki recall, customers may contact the nearest dealer workshop to find clarity.
This is second Maruti Suzuki recall in 4 months. Last being Ciaz recall in December.
