Launch price Rs 15.7 lakh for Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R in India, Maharashtra bookings from tomorrow


Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R are now available at a price tag of Rs 15.7 lakh and Rs 16.9 lakh and (ex-showroom, Pune). Kawasaki expects to begin deliveries of ZX-14R and ZX-10R later in September. A Kawasaki Showroom in Wakdewaki, Pune will be inaugurated on 7th of September.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (4)The company plans to open more showrooms in India. To begin with, thse 2 bikes will be sold as CBU’s through the new standalone Kawasaki dealership in Pune.

The reason to go alone with Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R for India is that both bikes need special attention. At present Bajaj is not equipped to handle these needs as such, probiking will not be involved in selling and servicing now.

Booking commence on September 5. Size of 1 litre bikes in India now stand at 400 units a year, and this is increasing by 20-25% each year. With the introduction of both bikes, Kawasaki intends to capture 20% if the 1 litre bike segment in India. Their facility is located at the Bajaj Akurdi plant. If demand supports assembly, then at a later date this pattern of progression will be incorporated. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R features an indicator to reflect economic riding.

Suspension mirror headlights, taillights, turn indicator are components that India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) will import. In savings, exporting from India gives Kawasaki benefits of 30% or more. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, powered by a 998cc inline four liquid cooled engine accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds and 0 to 160 kmph in 5.5 seconds with top speed limited to 300 kmph. Kawasaki plans to introduce more bikes here each year. Though not much was divulged today, they need not be Ninja’s.
