Lexus India Experience independent of Toyota

In furthering market growth, Lexus India has now announced a restructured organization, five months after entering the market and setting up 4 Lexus India Experience Centres. Lexus India will function independently from the broader Toyota India entity. A dedicated leadership structure will drive growth strategy.

Lexus India entered the market on 24th March, 2017 with the launch of ES 300H hybrid sedan, RX450H hybrid SUV, and Lexus LX 450d. Vehicle deliveries were initiated from 24th March. At the time of launch, listing price was as follows: Lexus RX450H hybrid SUV between Rs 1.07 crore – 1.09 crore for two variants. Lexus ES 300H hybrid Sedan for Rs 55.27 lakh, ex-sh Delhi.

In the five months since, Lexus has opened four guest experience centres in Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Gurgaon. In its independent avatar, Lexus India will focus on sustainable growth in the country. Lexus India Experience Centres/dealerships are planned for Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi too.

The new team is led by Akito Tachibana, Chairman, Lexus India. As President, Akitoshi Takemura leads business operations. Service and dealership operations will be a core business area to build a framework for sustainable growth. Arun Nair, Vice President oversees Operations. The changes will help Lexus ride drive further with sustainable growth in India.

With India positioned as one of the world’s fastest growing economies, Lexus looks to position itself for growth here. India is an extremely important market for Lexus. The new organizational structure points to this focus.

Lexus RX450H SUV comes to India as a completely built unit (CBU). Powered by aV6, aluminium petrol engine and an electric motor, it returns 259 hp torque (excluding electric motor) and 334.8 Nm (excluding hybrid motor). The electric motor pegs max powers at 165 hp.

Lexus LX 450d (diesel SUV) gets power 5.7L V8 diesel engine and returns 270PS of peak power and torque of 650Nm. Lexus ES 300h hybrid sedan is also retailing in India as a CBU. With power from a 2.5L petrol/hybrid engine, it returns 156 hp power, and 211 Nm of torque.
