RC-F is a compact premium coupé from Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division. This premium compact coupe made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2014. The car was recently spotted in Chennai, where it was seen rolling off a trailer.
Though Lexus as a brand is going to be launched in India, this is a one-off private import. This Lexus RC-F was seen on the service road leading to the Madras Motor Sports Club track in Irungattukottai, Sriperumbudur.
Lexus RC-F is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine offering 470 PS power at 6,400 rpm and 530 Nm torque at 4,800-5,600 rpm. It comes in with torque vectoring differentials allowing for better track performance while the engine is mated to an 8 speed sport direct shift transmission. Lexus RC-F can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 268 kmph.
Brembo brakes, a remote touchpad for control of various functions and ergonomic, high back seating are among its features while on board technology abounds. Lexus RC-F sits on 19” wheels with 255/35 tyres in front and 275/35 tyres at the rear.
Braking is from a 6 pot 380mm diameter ventilated discs in the front and 4 pod 345 mm diameter discs at the rear. As an option and at an extra charge of 8,000 GBP (INR 6.77 lakhs) buyers can also opt for an RC-F carbon pack.
The Lexus RC-F is priced at 60,495 GBP (INR 51.2 lakhs) in the UK while prices in India could surge well over INR 1.5 crore, thanks import duties and local taxes. In that range, it competes with the likes of BMW M3, M4, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and Porsche 911.
