Most auto majors are feeling the heat of falling sales and are keen to bring down prices to lure customers back into showrooms and increase their market share. Present in 70% of the market with B+ and C segment vehicles, Fiat Chrysler is also soon to enter the SUV segment which will add a further 10% to their presence. However, the company will be concentrating only on B and C segments and will not venture into the A segment. The Fiat Chrysler production plant is situated at Ranjangaon near Pune from where they have capacity to produce 2 lakh cars and 3 lakh engines and transmissions. Where product strategy is concerned, 9 new launches/upgrades can be expected of which four will be from the Fiat brand, while four will be from Jeep. A performance car from Abarth is in the offing, all of which will make their way into the country over the next 3 years.
