IndianAutosBlog reports that the new Mahindra 150 motorcycle which has been in the works for some time now could be unveiled this year. The motorcycle which will plug the huge gap in MTWL’s portfolio between the Centuro and Mojo is being developed completely in-house at the Pune R&D centre.
The publication reports that Mahindra is in the final stages of testing the engine but the chassis and styling are some distance away from completion. The automaker is reportedly undecided about the exact market positioning of the new product (150 cc segment encompasses commuter, executive and sports sub-segments).
Given that compact sportsbikes like the Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ FI V2.0 are clocking good numbers every month, we think this sub-segment would be good place for Mahindra to start its 150 cc chapter with. Of course, once the platform is ready, the company could spin off derivatives to cater to different audience bases and price segments.

MTWL is planning to augment its portfolio by participating in every significant two wheeler segment in the country. Having covered both 110 cc and 125 cc automatic scooter segment, it is now time for the ailing two wheeler maker to churn out some interesting motorcycles in the mass market.
